Supabets’ current South African pages identify Portapa 2 (Pty) Ltd as the company trading as Supabets and show Mpumalanga bookmaker licence 9-2-1-00055. The operator publishes a registration form, FICA guidance, betting rules, promotion terms, responsible-gambling information and a public affiliate-programme page. That is a useful evidence base, but the live site is split across www.supabets.co.za, new.supabets.co.za and older betwith.supabets.co.za routes, and some of those older routes now redirect to a generic help page.

Review status: Editorial draft checked against current first-party pages and operator-linked regulatory evidence on 8 September 2026. The score, recommendation, bonus cards and commercial CTA remain withheld until a named reviewer completes the account, cashier, product, support and safer-gambling tests and the provincial licence presentation is reconciled.

Quick verdict

Supabets provides more public operational detail than its placeholder draft suggested. Its current portal names the legal operator and licence, exposes FICA and betting rules, lists sports and racing products, and keeps detailed terms for the three-part deposit sequence and the R50 sign-up free bet. It also provides a direct affiliate application route.

The main caution is version control. The operator is migrating between site surfaces, several formerly useful support URLs now land on one generic page, and indexed promotion pages sometimes state different rollover conditions from the current new.supabets.co.za bonus-terms page. BetExpert should treat the current portal and terms page as the controlling public evidence, while preserving the conflicting older wording as a review blocker rather than silently choosing the more attractive version.

Licence and operator identity

Current Supabets page footers identify Portapa 2 (Pty) Ltd t/a Supabets and show bookmaker licence 9-2-1-00055 under the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator. The current site links a bookmaker-licence document from its compliance area. The latest operator-hosted certificate found in this review was issued to Portapa 2, company registration 2009/016148/07, on 1 October 2025. It names www.supabets.co.za as the approved URL and an annual renewal date of 30 September.

The national register inventory also contains a Free State row for the Supabets trading name under licence FSGLA/BML/002. That row supports a provincial presence, but it does not on its own prove that the Free State licence governs the national online account. The final review should present the current Mpumalanga online licence first and list other provincial evidence only where its legal entity, territory and product scope are clear.

The certificate and site footer are stronger evidence than a brand name alone, but the annual renewal and approved-domain position still need to be recaptured at publication time. South African national guidance distinguishes licensed bookmaking from unlawful online gambling, so the final article must keep the licensed operator, regulator and approved product context visible.

Site migration and official domains

The working sportsbook and legacy account interface remain available under www.supabets.co.za. The operator links editorial, help, terms and promotion material to new.supabets.co.za. Older betwith.supabets.co.za articles still appear in search results, but direct requests to several of them now redirect to the new help centre.

That creates a maintenance risk. A statement supported only by an old search result may no longer be reachable from the current site. For each fact used in the published review, BetExpert should store the exact current URL, capture date and a source fingerprint. Where an older page conflicts with the new portal, the new portal should not be assumed correct merely because it is newer; the live account and support team should confirm which rule applies.

Registration and FICA

The current registration form asks for a document type and number, personal and contact details, password and confirmation that the applicant is at least 18, is playing for themselves and is using their own money. The same control currently combines acceptance of terms and privacy wording with consent to receive promotions. The reviewer should record whether marketing consent can be declined without preventing registration.

The FICA page says identity and proof-of-residence documents are required. It accepts identity documents or passports with the appropriate permit and lists utility, bank, credit-card, telephone, rental, mortgage, municipal and insurance documents as possible proof of residence. It states that proof of residence must show the customer’s full address and be no more than three months old.

A hands-on registration test must establish:

  • which South African and non-citizen document types are actually accepted;
  • whether identity is checked automatically or by document upload;
  • when proof of address and source-of-funds information are requested;
  • how rejected or unreadable documents are explained;
  • whether marketing consent is genuinely optional;
  • how long verification takes for the tested account.

Public instructions establish the stated process. They do not establish that every user follows the same path or that a verified withdrawal will need no further checks.

Deposits

The current public terms require customers to use their own funds and allow Supabets to verify account holders, especially when money is deposited or withdrawn. Older first-party support material lists bank transfer, card, mobile-wallet and voucher routes, while the live cashier is the only dependable source for the methods and limits available to a particular account.

The review must record the minimum and maximum for each visible rand method, any fee or third-party charge, the stated allocation time and what happens when a deposit is delayed or reversed. It should also distinguish the platform minimum stake, which the current betting terms state as R1, from a cashier minimum or a promotion-qualifying deposit.

Voucher deposits are especially important because the current welcome-bonus terms say voucher deposits do not qualify for the first three deposit bonuses. A bonus card that omits that exclusion would be misleading even if the headline amount were correct.

Withdrawals

Current betting terms say settlement is made only to the account holder and that third-party deposits are not permitted. They also state that Supabets does not ordinarily grant withdrawals from a deposit balance and may apply a 30-day waiting period when a customer asks to withdraw deposited rather than won funds. That is a material condition and must be checked against the live cashier and current support response before publication.

Older first-party guidance describes cardless cash, vouchers and EFT. It says FICA must be complete before the first withdrawal, that some cardless payouts pass through an audit and that ordinary EFT can take one to three working days depending on the bank. Another older page promoted Ozow EFT within an hour during supported banking periods. Those descriptions refer to different methods and site versions, so they must not be compressed into one universal “fast payout” claim.

The hands-on test should separate request-to-approval time from approval-to-receipt time, capture method-specific minimums and limits, and record every additional document or error message. Any reported timing should name the method, test date and account state.

Sportsbook and mobile experience

The current portal promotes pre-match and live betting across soccer, rugby, cricket, tennis, horse racing and other sports. It also links lottery-style products and Play Vegas games. Current betting terms describe cash out as conditional and state that it may be unavailable, delayed or declined when a price changes or a market suspends. Bets placed with bonus funds do not qualify for cash out.

The final product test should cover:

  • PSL and international soccer navigation;
  • South African rugby, cricket and horse-racing coverage;
  • market grouping, search and event timing;
  • single and multiple bet-slip clarity;
  • decimal-odds display and odds-change controls;
  • live-market suspension and score labelling;
  • cash-out eligibility and error messages;
  • performance at a narrow mobile viewport;
  • the official publisher and destination for every app route.

Older app pages advertise a direct Android APK and store routes, but those pages now redirect to the new help centre. BetExpert should not publish an app-store badge or installation instruction until the destination and publisher are recaptured from the current portal.

Support and complaints

The new help centre presents email, phone and callback routes and displays indicative response times. The operator’s current and older first-party pages use [email protected] and +27 11 215 7000. These are published contact options, not proof of service quality.

A named reviewer must ask a neutral question about a current rule, record the channel, queue time and response, and compare the answer with the terms page. The final article also needs a clear internal complaint path and the correct provincial escalation route. A regulator should not be presented as the first support contact for an ordinary account question.

Responsible-gambling tools

The current responsible-gaming page says Supabets supports voluntary account disabling and publishes the National Responsible Gambling Programme number 0800 006 008 and WhatsApp contact 076 675 0710. It links application and policy documents for exclusion. The general terms state that only people aged 18 or older may operate an account and that identity, age and residency evidence is required.

Earlier terms described 24-hour, 48-hour and one-week cooling-off periods as well as self-exclusion. The current public responsible-gaming page uses broader language about disabling an account for a chosen period. The reviewer must test which durations are available now, whether a reduction or exclusion starts immediately, what happens to pending bets and withdrawals, and how quickly marketing stops.

The presence of a policy and counselling contacts is positive. It does not justify a high safer-gambling score until the live controls and reopening process are tested.

Welcome bundle and terms conflict

The current promotions surface advertises a welcome bundle with four distinct elements: a R50 sign-up free bet, 100 free spins, and deposit bonuses on the first three deposits. The current bonus-terms page describes the deposit sequence as 100% up to R2,000 on the first deposit, 50% up to R1,000 on the second and 100% up to R2,000 on the third, for an aggregate headline of up to R5,000.

The same page says the first three deposit bonuses are for new sign-ups, apply to single sports bets, require real deposited money to be played before the bonus appears, exclude voucher deposits and expire if not transferred within 15 days. It currently states 10-times wagering at odds of 14/10 or better for all three deposit components. It also caps withdrawable winnings at R3,000 for the first and third components and R2,000 for the second.

The R50 free-bet section states five-times rollover at 2/1 or better, a matching deposit before bonus winnings can be withdrawn and a 15-day transfer deadline. The 100-free-spins section is a separate casino component with selected games, fixed spin value, ten-times wagering of winnings and a two-day expiry.

Older operator pages indexed during this review state five-times rather than ten-times rollover for some deposit components and different odds wording for the R50 free bet. Because the current site exposes materially different conditions across versions, BetExpert will not publish one combined “up to R5,000 plus extras” bonus card yet. Each component should become a separate normalized offer record after the live registration path, current terms, eligibility and claim flow are captured together.

Affiliate programme

Supabets publishes an affiliate-programme page describing an application, approval review, marketing assets, tracked links and monthly commission payments. It lists [email protected] for programme questions. This confirms that a programme exists; it does not confirm that BetExpert has been approved or that any existing /go/supabets/ link contains valid tracking.

The commercial CTA must remain off until the owner supplies or authorizes a dashboard-generated tracking URL, the destination is click-tested, the sub-ID convention is recorded and the affiliate disclosure appears beside the link.

Pros

  • Current pages identify Portapa 2, the Mpumalanga regulator and licence 9-2-1-00055.
  • The operator publishes registration, FICA, betting, bonus and responsible-gambling information.
  • The current portal covers major South African sports and horse racing.
  • Detailed terms expose rollover, expiry, payout caps and voucher exclusions for welcome components.
  • A public affiliate application route exists.

Cautions

  • The site is split across legacy, new and sportsbook subdomains, and some old sources now redirect.
  • The national register includes a separate Free State row whose role in the online account needs clarification.
  • Older and current promotion pages conflict on rollover and qualifying-odds wording.
  • Public payment guidance does not prove the methods, limits, fees or timings in a verified account.
  • Deposit-balance withdrawal wording is unusually restrictive and needs a live support check.
  • App destinations, account controls and support quality remain untested.

Score

Withheld pending hands-on checks. Supabets has strong current identity evidence and unusually detailed public promotion terms, but site migration, provincial mapping, live cashier behaviour and conflicting offer wording must be resolved before the weighted methodology can produce a rating.
