Lucky Fish is a South African sportsbook, horse-racing and gaming operator run by Race Coast Western Cape (Pty) Ltd. Its current website presents multiple provincial bookmaker licences, a dedicated FICA upload service and a detailed registration promotion. This is a source-checked review, not a hands-on endorsement: BetExpert has not opened an account, submitted identity documents, deposited, placed a bet or requested a withdrawal.
Quick verdict
Lucky Fish merits a full review because its legal identity and current online domain can be connected to first-party licence statements and the National Gambling Board register. Its public product is broad, with sports betting, horse racing, lucky numbers, slots, live games and mobile application routes. The operator also publishes unusually specific rules for its current no-deposit welcome package.
The most important limitation is practical rather than documentary. A licence confirms the regulated entity and the right to offer betting; it does not prove competitive prices, reliable acceptance, fast settlement or prompt withdrawals. Until BetExpert completes a controlled account test, the review remains unscored and makes no payout-speed or service-quality claim.
Legal identity and licence evidence
The current Lucky Fish footer identifies Race Coast Western Cape (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2011/008903/07, trading as Lucky Fish. It displays Western Cape bookmaker licence 10192071-003, Eastern Cape licence ECBM 012-01 and Mpumalanga licence 9-2-1-09838. The footer names the consumer domain and provides physical addresses in the Western and Eastern Cape.
The National Gambling Board’s current verified-operator register independently contains a Western Cape row for Race Coast Western Cape (Pty) Ltd t/a Lucky Fish with licence 10192071-003. It also contains a Lucky Fish Mpumalanga row with licence 9-2-1-09838. The first-party footer and the national register therefore align on the brand and two material provincial identifiers.
Lucky Fish publishes more than one provincial licence because bookmaker activity can be authorised through different provincial regulators and premises. BetExpert records each number with its province instead of treating one branch row as a universal national licence. Licence evidence is rechecked on a scheduled basis because entities, premises, issue dates and licence suffixes can change.
Registration, age and FICA
Lucky Fish restricts gambling to people aged 18 or older. Its current registration guide says a prospective customer enters an identity number, first name and surname as they appear on the identity document, followed by a residential address and email address. It describes an identity-verification step and warns customers to use accurate legal details.
The operator also exposes a dedicated FICA self-service portal at fica.luckyfish.co.za. That service accepts an ID, passport or cellphone reference before document submission and tells customers to upload clear scans or photographs. The existence of a document route is useful evidence, but BetExpert has not tested which proof-of-address files pass, whether automatic verification works consistently or how long manual review takes.
Customers should expect payment ownership and account information to be checked before withdrawal. The current welcome rules expressly state that FICA approval is required before a withdrawal can be processed. This review does not quote a verification time because no controlled submission has been completed.
Sportsbook and product range
Current public navigation exposes pre-match sports, in-play betting, horse racing and lucky numbers alongside casino categories. The operator’s own material names international football and South African competitions, and its horse-racing coverage is a prominent part of the proposition. Product breadth is not the same as product quality. Deposits and withdrawals
The public pages reviewed expose account funding guidance and a Cash Send terms route, but they do not provide enough stable logged-out evidence for one universal deposit minimum, a complete method-by-method fee table or a dependable end-to-end withdrawal time. A funded test must record every available rand deposit and withdrawal method, the displayed minimum and maximum, any fee, name-matching requirements and whether the same method supports both directions.
