Scorebet is a South African sportsbook and gaming platform with online and retail activity across several provinces. Its current site links a renewed Northern Cape bookmaker certificate, publishes detailed account and dispute rules and exposes complete terms for several welcome promotions. This review is source-checked but unscored because BetExpert has not registered, completed FICA, deposited, placed a bet or tested a withdrawal.
Quick verdict
Scorebet belongs in the main operator directory because the active consumer platform, Northern Cape address and current licence certificate can be reconciled. The product covers pre-match and live sports, horse and dog racing, lucky numbers and casino categories, with clearly accessible legal and safer-gambling pages.
The principal evidence issue is naming. The footer says “V2.3 ScoreBet (2013/122709/07)” and calls the platform Northern Cape regulated, while the linked renewed certificate names Deeps Betting Grounds t/a Scorebet. The footer number appears to be a company registration identifier rather than a clearly labelled bookmaker licence number. BetExpert preserves that distinction instead of forcing two separate documents into one unsupported legal-name claim.
Legal identity and licence evidence
The linked certificate is a one-page renewed Bookmaker Operator Licence issued by the Northern Cape Gambling and Liquor Board. It names Deeps Betting Grounds trading as Scorebet at 5-7 Phakamile Mabija Road, Kimberley. The certificate is dated 20 May 2026, expires on 31 March 2027 and says renewal is due no later than the last day of March each year.
The same Kimberley address appears in the current Scorebet footer. That alignment connects the consumer platform to the operating premises named on the certificate. The footer separately displays 2013/122709/07 beside the label “V2.3 ScoreBet”; because it does not cleanly explain whether V2.3 is a legal entity, trading label or platform version, the review does not treat it as a substitute for the name on the regulator-issued certificate.
The National Gambling Board register contains multiple Scorebet and Scorebets rows across the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, North West and Northern Cape, including branch-level records and related companies. Those records demonstrate a broader provincial footprint but do not, by themselves, prove which entity contracts every online customer. The Northern Cape certificate and matching online address are the primary evidence used here.
Registration, age and FICA
Scorebet restricts betting to natural persons aged 18 or older who are not listed as excluded under the National Gambling Act. Its current terms say the operator can decline an incomplete or inaccurate application and that customers must hold only one account, register for themselves and protect their login details.
The FICA section says online customers disclose full names, a South African identity or passport number, residential address, email address, telephone details and source of funds. It states that an online account will not be created until identity is established and verified, and describes identity, screening and security checks.
BetExpert has not submitted the form and therefore cannot claim that verification takes a particular number of minutes or accepts every document type without manual review. A controlled test must record the sign-up fields, automatic match result, accepted proof-of-address documents, status messaging and support escalation.
Sportsbook and product range
The current platform exposes sports betting, in-play markets, horse racing, greyhounds, lucky numbers and several casino categories. Public navigation includes football, rugby, cricket, tennis, motorsport, golf and other international sports. The footer states that betting events and markets are offered at fixed odds.
Scorebet’s general terms include sections for betting markets, placing bets, void bets, errors, adjustments and betting or payout limits. Those rules create a framework for account-level testing; they are not evidence that prices are consistently competitive or that every market is settled without delay.
Before a rating is issued, BetExpert must compare identical selections at timestamped prices, test pre-match and live acceptance, measure suspension, examine maximum-stake messaging, inspect cash-out where offered and verify settlement and correction behaviour. Casino and games breadth is excluded from the sportsbook score.
Deposits and withdrawals
The legal index contains dedicated sections for deposits, payments to customers and withdrawals. Public pages also expose direct-EFT guidance and source-of-funds information. However, BetExpert has not completed a live cashier inventory and will not infer one universal minimum, fee schedule or payout time from promotional deposits or marketing pages.
A funded test must identify each available rand method, minimum and maximum amounts, displayed fees, ownership rules and whether a route supports both deposits and withdrawals. It must record the time spent in operator approval separately from delivery by a bank or payment service.
No “instant” or “same-day” withdrawal claim is approved. Customers should complete FICA, use an account in their own name and review the current withdrawal screen before depositing.
Current welcome promotions
Scorebet currently offers an R20 sign-up free bet plus 10 free spins. The detailed page says the package is applied after completing registration and can be used before FICA documents are submitted, although verification requirements still apply before normal account use and withdrawal.
The R20 is a free bet: only resulting winnings, not the original bonus stake, move to the main wallet. It requires 3x rollover at odds of 1.65 or greater, with a maximum permitted price of 100/1. The maximum withdrawable amount from the R20 component is R50, and the maximum from the free-spin component is also R50. Both expire 72 hours after issue.
The operator also publishes a first-deposit package. A first deposit of at least R50 receives a 100% match up to R5,000 plus a tiered number of spins. The bonus requires 5x rollover at odds of 1.75 or greater within 72 hours, and cashed-out transactions do not count. It can be used on sports, lotto and horse racing; the spins are allocated for Gates of Olympus.
The number of spins and withdrawal or winnings limits depend on the deposit tier. Deposits from R50 to R250 receive 25 spins and have a published R1,000 tier limit; the top R2,501 to R5,000 tier receives 150 spins, with a R15,000 sports-bonus win limit and R20,000 spin-winnings limit. BetExpert therefore describes the offer as “up to 150 spins” and does not imply every R50 deposit receives the maximum.
Both promotion sets prohibit multiple accounts, irregular play and using related markets within the same event. Scorebet reserves the right to change or discontinue promotions. Support, disputes and safer gambling
The current dispute page lists [email protected], telephone +27 65 833 4939, retail outlets and a postal route. It says the internal team will acknowledge a dispute in writing within 48 hours and issue a final decision within seven working days. If unresolved, the customer may approach the Northern Cape Gambling Board or the applicable provincial authority. These are published targets and have not been tested by BetExpert.
Scorebet’s self-exclusion page describes a request made through the operator, document submission to the relevant provincial authority and National Gambling Board, and enforcement for at least six months across regulated gambling activity. It states that upliftment is considered only after the minimum period and after counselling-related conditions are met.
The footer displays the National Responsible Gambling Programme helpline 0800 006 008 and a WhatsApp HELP contact. A hands-on review must still verify deposit limits, account restrictions, marketing suppression, confirmation timing and treatment of remaining balances.
