Its public site identifies MBET International (Pty) Ltd and several Marshalls World of Sport provincial entities, publishes a Western Cape bookmaker licence, and provides detailed promotion and safer-gambling pages. This review is source-checked but unscored because BetExpert has not registered, deposited or completed a withdrawal.
Quick verdict
MBET deserves full-review coverage because it is an active local product with a broad sportsbook and racing proposition, rather than merely a name in a regulator table. The site exposes pre-match and in-play markets, fixed-odds racing, tote products, esports, instant games and live-dealer content. It also publishes a substantial list of South African payment routes and a current welcome offer with specific turnover, expiry and payout conditions.
The main limitation is that much of the public information is promotional. BetExpert has not yet tested registration, automated FICA, cashier limits, withdrawal approval, support response or bet settlement. MBET therefore receives no numerical score and no claim of fast payouts. The review distinguishes what the operator states from what has been independently tested.
Legal identity and licence
The footer identifies MBET International (Pty) Ltd, registration number 1998/023845/07, trading as MBET International. It states that Western Cape bookmaker licence 10189800-001 was issued on 21 September 2021. The same footer identifies Marshalls World of Sport entities and licences in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, showing that the wider operation has more than one provincial relationship.
The consumer review records the entity and licence displayed for the online service, while retaining the additional provincial disclosures as context. A licence proves regulatory status; it does not demonstrate that every product, promotion or customer-service claim performs well. Registration and FICA
MBET states that it follows South African FICA requirements. The public promotion rules also make an important distinction: a newly registered customer may receive certain free spins before submitting FICA documents, but withdrawals and normal account use remain subject to verification and general terms. Deposits and withdrawals
The public footer displays Ozow and Capitec-linked options, EFT, card transfer, OTT and 1Voucher-style voucher routes, Apple Pay, Masterpass, Zapper and other processors. Availability, minimums and fees may differ inside the logged-in cashier. Only profit from a bonus bet moves to the real-money wallet; the bonus stake is not returned. The page states a maximum payout of R20,000 from bonus winnings and limits the offer by person, household, payment method and IP range. These restrictions are material. The headline is not R2,000 in withdrawable cash, and the short expiry makes the offer unsuitable for customers who cannot meet the terms without changing their normal betting.
The same promotion route also advertises 400 sign-up spins with separate conditions, including a 40-times wagering requirement on spin winnings, a deposit requirement before withdrawal and a low stated payout cap in one section. BetExpert keeps the sports match and spins conceptually separate so their conditions are not blended into a misleading single number.
Support and safer gambling
MBET publishes live chat, telephone and email support routes. Its safer-gambling page describes deposit limits, self-evaluation and self-exclusion for six months to one year. It says excluded customers cannot log in to bet and may contact support to arrange withdrawal of an available balance.
