Betshezi is a South African sportsbook and gaming site operated through SMP Gaming entities. Its current footer identifies Western Cape and Eastern Cape companies, while its help centre provides detailed FICA, withdrawal, safer-gambling and welcome-offer rules. This review is source-checked but remains unscored until the customer journey and provincial entity mapping are tested.
Quick verdict
Betshezi publishes useful customer information: withdrawals can take up to 72 hours for internal review and generally five minutes to two business days to reflect; minimum withdrawals are method-specific; deposit limits and time-outs are available; and the welcome package is itemised. The caution is entity and licence recency. The current footer uses WCGRB licence 10191121-005, issued 1 August 2026, while the NGB register captured during this project showed suffix -004. The footer also names a separate Eastern Cape entity and ECBM 033.
Legal identity and provincial licences
The current footer identifies SMP Gaming (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2021/964248/07, as licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under bookmaker licence 10191121-005. It also identifies SMP Gaming Eastern Cape (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/1252266/07, under Eastern Cape bookmaker licence ECBM 033, issued 4 June 2025.
The NGB register row previously captured for SMP Gaming t/a Betshezi used Western Cape suffix -004. The footer’s later issue date indicates that -005 may be a renewal, but that is an inference. BetExpert preserves both references and will capture the contract shown to a customer at registration.
Registration and FICA
The general terms say Betshezi must establish and verify a customer’s identity before creating an online betting account. The company may conduct identity, credit, security and source-of-funds checks and may use relevant third-party verification services. Customers can be required to provide a valid identity document or passport, proof of address and proof of bank account, with statements no older than three months.
A live registration test is still needed to record OTP delivery, document quality rules, rejection handling, verification time and which provincial entity appears in the agreement.
Sportsbook and gaming products
The current navigation includes pre-match and live sports, football, rugby, cricket, tennis, basketball, esports, Lucky Numbers, BetGames, virtual sports, live tables, slots and crash products such as Aviator. The site promotes mobile access and provides an Android package link.
BetExpert has not installed the app or measured odds margins, market coverage, bet confirmation, live delay, cash out, settlement, game loading, data consumption or accessibility. No product rating is assigned from menu breadth alone.
Deposits and withdrawals
The help centre lists Instant EFT, vouchers and cards among deposit options. It lets customers set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits; reductions are said to process within minutes, while increases are delayed for 24 hours and require confirmation.
Every withdrawal is subject to internal review, which may take up to 72 hours. Betshezi lists Ozow Instant EFT and OTT-powered Instant Money or eWallet routes and requires the destination account or phone number to belong to the customer. The help centre says withdrawals generally take between five minutes and two business days to reflect after the required process. OTT and eWallet minimum withdrawals are R100; other methods have a R200 minimum. Instant Money or eWallet is capped at R5,000 per day and R25,000 per calendar month, and customers may submit no more than four withdrawal requests in 24 hours. Betshezi says it charges no withdrawal fee.
Unused bonus funds may cause cancellation, and full FICA verification is required. A funded test still needs to reconcile the 72-hour internal-review window with the stated bank-reflection range.
Welcome package up to R10,000
The current official page describes a package effective from 19 March 2025. Verified new accounts receive a R50 sports bonus bet. It requires 5x turnover at minimum odds of 1.50, a R50 deposit before bonus winnings can be withdrawn, and use and settlement within seven days.
The deposit sequence offers 100% up to R2,500 for Pragmatic slots, 75% up to R2,500 for Red Tiger slots, 50% up to R2,500 for EGT slots, and 100% up to R2,500 for all slots and Aviator. The first three deposits have a R100 single-deposit minimum; the page does not repeat that minimum in the fourth-deposit bullet. Match bonuses require 20x turnover within three days. Associated slot-spin awards require 5x turnover and use on the specified games.
The page says early withdrawal before completion forfeits bonus funds and winnings, and the maximum payout for a slot bonus is equal to the bonus issued. BetExpert keeps the sports registration award and four-deposit package together because the operator presents them on one terms page, while exposing the product restrictions and the unusually short three-day window.
Support and safer gambling
The contact page lists [email protected], live chat and 24/7 availability. The site links responsible-gambling information, self-exclusion, a logged-in time-out tool and deposit-limit controls. It displays the national counselling line 0800 006 008 and WhatsApp help number 076 675 0710.
