Our reviews are designed to answer a practical question: what should a South African player know before choosing this bookmaker?
No score should be published until the operator identity, official domain and applicable South African licence evidence have been checked.
The review process
1. Identity and licence evidence
We record the consumer brand, legal or trading entity, official South African domain, provincial regulator and licence number shown by reliable sources. Large brands may operate through different provincial entities, so a single branch entry is not automatically treated as the complete licensing picture.
2. Account and verification
We assess registration clarity, age restrictions, FICA or identity-verification requirements, account controls and the information available before a player deposits.
3. Payments
We compare advertised deposit and withdrawal methods, minimum amounts, stated processing times and any important restrictions. Payment availability can vary by customer and may change after the review date.
4. Sportsbook and product experience
We examine navigation, market coverage, bet-slip clarity, live betting, mobile usability and the quality of help content. Product breadth alone does not determine the score.
5. Promotions
Promotional headlines are scored only alongside their terms. Wagering, qualifying odds, deadlines, exclusions and eligibility can materially reduce an offer’s practical value.
6. Support and safer-gambling tools
We check published support channels, complaint information, deposit or time controls, self-exclusion guidance and links to independent support.
Scoring framework
The overall rating is an editorial score out of five. Our working weights are:
- Trust, identity and regulatory evidence: 30%
- Payments and account experience: 20%
- Sportsbook product and usability: 20%
- Support and responsible-gambling tools: 15%
- Promotion transparency and value: 15%
A high bonus value cannot compensate for weak licence evidence or unclear withdrawal information. Serious trust or compliance concerns can override the numeric calculation and result in a warning or no recommendation.
Updates
Every review should display its last-checked date and evidence sources. High-traffic reviews are rechecked regularly and whenever we learn of a material licence, domain, ownership, payment or promotion change.
Affiliate relationships do not change this methodology and cannot be used to purchase a score.
